Of course, the fact that Brutal Legend features a phenomenal soundtrack from the likes of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and Judas Priest with suitable hack-and-slash action would feasibly constitute a reasonable tribute on its own terms. Yet, what raises Brutal Legend above that simple construct–plus what makes it a great ode to metal–is how it cleverly integrates so many different facets of the culture and its music to create an experience that consistently entertains and surprises in both single-player and multiplayer.

This is an uncompromising RPG of the highest order–and a brilliant, atmospheric, and visionary one. It is at once old-fashioned and innovative, a stubbornly difficult dungeon crawler loaded with wholly unique mechanics. Perhaps the game’s greatest triumph, however, is that it takes qualities normally associated with frustration and discomfort–constant trial and error, slow progression, harsh enemies–and makes them virtues. It may have an unusual and unforgiving set of rules, but it stays true to them and, in the process, draws you in like few RPGs can. Demon’s Souls is a stark and sulky beauty and is one of the finest games of 2009.

The result is an unparalleled game of football, whether you’re playing a quick game with your mates or sitting in the manager’s chair over several seasons. There are still some issues–the sheer number of options and game modes result in an overloaded menu system, while the ability to upgrade players in exchange for real cash is a worrying sign for the future of downloadable content. However, these small issues aside, FIFA 10 is without a doubt the best football game yet, and it’s a package that no football fan will want to be without.

These enhancements range from the subtle (you can swim now) to the game-changing (there’s an economy), but aside from a few small missteps, every tweak makes for a more enjoyable, more engaging adventure. The cohesive story and a terrific new character will draw you in, and you aren’t apt to forget the memorable and explosive ending that will have you eager for the third installment.

Your opponents aren’t pushovers; in fact, they put up a believable fight from start to finish, but the vehicle handling and damage is forgiving, the difficulty level can be altered before every event, and a slick flashback feature gives you the option to instantly replay portions of a race if you make a mess of it. Dirt 2 isn’t as realistic as some of the other excellent off-road racers that have come before it, but it’s as accessible and exciting as any of them.

The five largest of these SMP are owned by one parent company called Outer Haven, which is operated by Liquid Ocelot. Amasser an army whose size rivals that of the United States, liquid prepares to launch an armed insurrection. With the world once again in crisis, the rapid aging of Solid Snake and disillusioned is deployed in the Middle East by Roy Campbell at the end of liquids. Metal Gear Solid 4 will be held in 5 locations around the world. So far, three locations were revealed: the Middle East, South America, and somewhere in Eastern Europe.

But pointless new mechanics aside, Sigma 2 adds three new excellent single-player levels to the campaign featuring three different heroines, each of which is terrific fun to control. Even better, you can join another player online in a substantial number of cooperative arenas, where you’ll find double the flash and double the entertainment. This version of Ninja Gaiden II is notably better, and it offers enough extra content that even those who have already played and enjoyed the initial release should consider adding it to their game libraries.
